The Mathematics of Fiction
Thursday, Oct. 29 at 7:30 p.m. in Memorial Hall, Manil Suri will deliver the 2009 Blazer Lecture on "The Mathematics of Fiction." The lecture is sponsored by the College of Arts and Sciences.
Suri, a native of India, is the author of the novels "The Death of Vishnu" and "The Age of Shiva." He is also a mathematics professor at the University of Maryland Baltimore County. He performs research in numerical analysis, while spending increasing amounts of time working to bring mathematics to the general public.
